Countdown to Sip!

It’s two weeks until the winter classic known as Sip!

Formally titled the McMinnville Wine and Food Classic, Sip! celebrates its 23rd year this March 11-13.

If you’ve never been, “Plan on experiencing over 70 Oregon wine vendors, 20 food vendors and myriad art booths,” says event co-chair Daisy Amerson. Also, “Plan on making dinner reservation at one of the fabulous restaurants on 3rd Street.”

Free shuttles running from all hotels and downtown McMinnville to the Evergreen Space Museum make it easy for attendees to relax about transportation and just enjoy themselves.

Each year, Sip! seems to add something new. This year it’s hard cidar, which will be part of the beer booth for the first time. The festival added spirits to menu three years ago.

Amerson said her favorite part of Sip! is working with the volunteers and visiting with attendees from all over the United States. “Also, it warms my heart to see the ‘No Vacancy’ signs in all the hotels in McMinnville.”

Attendance has grown to over 15,000, but one of the best things about Sip! is it never feels overcrowded, and certainly never a dull moment.
